As far as old as well as fashionable. Hookah, shisha, kalian, tobacco water pipe, hookah, hitboo in fact we are talking about the same thing. With a history of hundreds of years from Persia, India, Arabia, Turkey already is spread in many western countries such as USA, UK, France and Russia.

It's built very simply. First the head, which contains tobacco and coal.

Above covered with aluminum foil with a few holes and a little above doing that coal burning tobacco in its temperature. Secondly by a plate which houses burnt tobacco. Thirdly by the body which is a tube that connects the head with the pot of water. In the latter happen tobacco cooling and filtering it. Fourth, valve which makes the passage of smoke to the casing. At the end of the hose travels a mouthpiece through which man inhale the smoke.

It is believed that it is harmless. Actually not at all. It is harmful for both users and for those who are exposed to it. The myth that hookah, unless more "interesting” but with a "smoke filter” has grown tremendously the number of its users, especially young people. Hookah even in 2015 was not included in the Supervisory System of Youth Risk Behavior. But the new study , which includes 542 scientific articles found that in one session hookah released 125 times more smoke, 25 times more tar , nicotine 2.5 times and 10 times more carbon monoxide than cigarettes . Although the bottle smoke pot with water running through it again fails to filter the smoke from many harmful substances and carcinogens, carbon monoxide and metals.

Did you know that hookah can increase opportunities for leukemia?

One of the most dangerous substances contained in tobacco is benzene. National Toxicology Program's has classified in the first group of carcinogens. In a study published in the American Society for Cancer Research analyzed the level of S phenyl mercapturic acid, a metabolite of benzene, in the urine of 105 individuals who use hookah, and 103 individuals who did not use. It showed that the amount of acid S phenyl mercapturic increased 4.2 times after taken hookah during a session while to exposure to smoke ASFM grew 1.9 times. Dr. Nada Kasem director of the Center for Epidemiology of Behavioral and Community Health is not expressed surprised that the amount of benzene increases in the subjects exposed, but said he was very concerned that people do not understand how negative it is for  their health. They, he said, are deluded by the fact that tobacco is burned with the heat of its natural, or after water cooled, giving the idea of filtration.

There are many studies, both in humans and in animals that have shown links to cancer benzene. It is also already known that benzene has as target organ and bone marrow, which is the most important hematopoietic organ. It can lead to serious damage to its causing aplastic anemia or leukemia. Since hookah contains this toxic, its users have a larger role for this type of cancer.

As always youthful age which is increasingly drawn toward such behavior. In the study of 2012 22-40 % of high school students admit to consume hookah during last year. What is not understood from customers is that from these 4000 harmful chemicals of smoking, of course, most of those are inhaled inside our body raising the possibility of cancer of the mouth, esophagus, stomach and lower fertility.

So, it is to remember always that hookah is carcinogenic!
